Ellie is 17, hasn’t been able to make a friend since her best friend Angel killed himself 3 years ago, and might want to die herself. On the anniversary of Angel’s suicide, Ellie tries to kill herself, but instead wakes up in a warped version of her high school where everyone’s wildly, absurdly depressed.

Greeted by Angel, who has been waiting for her with a “Welcome” binder, she discovers the only way out of this weird world is to convince someone that life’s worth living…which sucks, because she’s still not convinced herself.
